Position: AHSU BOARD CHAIR

Dr. Edgar M. KALIMBA is a senior consultant pediatric pulmonologist, healthcare executive, and academic leader serving as deputy CEO of King Faisal Hospital, Rwanda, and a senior lecturer at the University of Rwanda and the Africa Health Sciences University. He holds specialist qualifications in pediatrics, allergology, and pediatric pulmonology; an MBA in healthcare management; and is currently pursuing a PhD in malaria drug resistance genomics at Université Libre de Bruxelles. His research spans pediatric respiratory medicine, malaria genomics, and early childhood development, with peer-reviewed publications and collaborative studies across Africa. He is also a member of the European Respiratory Society, Pan-African Thoracic Society, and African Allergy and Immunology Society.
