📍 Dr. KAMUNGA B. Laurent Gamy is an experienced professional in the field of emergency medicine and critical care for many years. He holds a Master in Medicine (Mmed) in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care from the University of Rwanda. He also has a bachelor's degree with honors in Medicine after a degree in Biomedical Sciences from Université de Lubumbashi, in Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). He currently works as an Emergency and Critical Care Physician (Consultant) at King Faisal Hospital Rwanda. Prior to that, he was a resident in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care at the University of Rwanda. He has also previously worked in various medical roles in Emergency and Critical Care settings, including as humanitarian in an international NGO and as clinician at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Kigali (CHUK). He has completed several specialized trainings in Emergency Medicine, including Advanced Cardiac Life Support, WHO Basic Emergency courses, Advanced Trauma Life Support, Emergency Ultrasound, Trauma Care, and Quality Improvement in hospital settings. Serving on the frontlines, he battled significant health crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and the Marburg outbreak in Rwanda in 2024, at King Faisal Hospital. He has held many leadership roles. He is also actively involved in the education of residents and undergraduates students, and development of the Emergency and Critical Care department. Currently, he is the Education coordinator in the department of Emergency and Critical Care at Africa Health Science University (AHSU) He speaks fluently French, English, Swahili and basic Kinyarwanda. His interests include general culture, travel, music, and sports. He emphasizes professionalism, effective communication, and teamwork in multicultural settings as part of his approach to medical practice.
