📍 Dr. Ukwishaka Joyeuse is a Consultant Paediatrician and Research Coordinator at the Department of Paediatrics, King Faisal Hospital Rwanda, and Africa Health Sciences University. Her professional experience combines clinical expertise with strong methodological skills acquired through public health and research training. Dr. Ukwishaka holds an MBChB degree from the National University of Rwanda. Her Master of Medicine (MMed) degree in Paediatrics and Child Health was obtained from the University of Rwanda. Her public health expertise has been further supplemented by a Postgraduate Certificate in Public Health from the University of Edinburgh, UK, and a Master’s degree in Public Health Methodology from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium. With over 12 years of experience as a consultant paediatrician and four years of experience focusing on research and public health, Dr. Ukwishaka's research and implementation focus is on clinical research and implementation science, child health, parenting, and health system improvement. In her position as Research Coordinator, she oversees the research direction of the department, research development among the faculty and trainees, and the integration of research-based practice into the delivery of paediatric healthcare. Her work reflects her commitment to bridging the gap between the frontlines of paediatric healthcare and research to improve child health outcomes in Rwanda and the region.
